Practical or good looking — for years we had to pick one. So we started making the other.
How it started
We have been going on adventures since we were little. Our parents had a cottage in the mountains of Austria and we were there as often as we could be — skiing in winter, hiking all summer.
Those trips stuck with us. Not for the scenery so much as the feeling: out of the house, weather on your face, nothing to answer to for a few hours.
What we could never solve was the kit. Gear that held up outdoors looked like expedition equipment. Gear that looked good gave up the first time it was really used. So we started putting together our own range — clothing, footwear, packs and camping gear — because we knew exactly what it needed to be.
Every product has to earn its place by doing its job — keeping the weather out, gripping wet ground, carrying a load. Features that only look technical do not make it in.
Cut and sized for people in their forties and fifties, not for a fit model. Every size chart on this site comes from the maker, not from a conversion table.
Nothing you would feel odd wearing to the shop on the way home. Muted colours, no loud branding, no gear-catalogue costume.
Proper stitching, proper hardware, materials that survive a season of real use. We would rather sell you one thing that lasts than three that do not.
Our mission
We are not trying to outfit an expedition. We want the gear that gets grabbed on the way out the door — the jacket off the hook, the boots by the mat, the pack that is already loaded — and still does its job the tenth time.
A mountain hike or a lap of the woods after work counts the same to us. No trends, no fleeting fashion, just gear that keeps working for years.
