Both hands are busy..
Your gear is on your chest..
Rod in one hand, fish in the other. Pliers, line, hooks and phone sit where one hand can reach them, standing, without setting anything down.
What everyone says first
“I'm not wearing a padded vest all day in the heat.”
Neither would we. This one is sleeveless with open sides, so air crosses your back all day, and the foam panels lift out of their sleeves when you don't want them. What is left is a vest that carries your kit.

Six reasons this one stays on
EVERYTHING IN REACH
Six pockets plus a bottle holder: chest, two zipped fronts, a small front, a velcro front and a generous rear. Plus D-rings and elastic bands for tools.
70 NEWTONS OF LIFT
Closed-cell foam front and back gives 70 newtons of buoyancy. It is not a certified life jacket, but it holds you up.
A WHISTLE ON THE STRAP
The whistle clips to the chest webbing, not into a pocket. It carries further than a shout and it works when both hands are full.
OPEN SIDES, NO SLEEVES
Air crosses your back all day and your casting shoulder never meets a seam. Built for a full casting swing, and the reason it stays on.
ONE SIZE, REALLY ADJUSTABLE
Shoulder and side straps run 52 to 72 cm across and 55 to 70 cm long. Set it once, over a t-shirt or over a winter jacket.
SEEN AT DUSK
Reflective strips sit on both shoulders, across both front pockets and straight across the back. Headlamps and boat lights find you.
Wherever you fish from

Three numbers worth knowing
of the people who drowned boating in 2024 were not wearing any flotation at all.
of recreational boating deaths happen on paddlecraft. Kayaks alone account for sixteen percent.
boating deaths happen on vessels under twenty-one feet, the ones people fish from.

A bag you set down vs. a vest you wear
Honest limit: a tackle bag holds far more than this vest does. This carries what has to be within arm's reach, not your whole collection.
Why a vest gets worn and a bag gets left behind
A bag is efficient right up to the moment you need it. Then it costs you a hand, a step and your place in the water. Every leader change, every hook, every photo becomes a small negotiation with the floor.
Move the same kit onto your chest and the negotiation disappears. One hand opens a pocket while the other holds the rod. That is the whole idea, and it is why a working vest stays on from first light until you pack up.

Good questions
Will I actually float in it?
Yes. The foam panels front and back give 70 newtons of buoyancy, which is a buoyancy aid: designed to hold a conscious swimmer up in sheltered water.
Honest note: Below the 100 newton class. Not homologated for open sea or rough water, and no substitute for a certified life jacket.
Is this a life jacket?
No. It adds real buoyancy, but it is not certified and it does not replace the life jacket you are required to carry on board.
Honest note: A certified device is tested to turn an unconscious wearer face-up. This vest is not tested for that.
Can I take the foam out?
Yes. Each panel slides out of its sleeve. Most people leave them in on the water and take them out for bank fishing in high summer.
Will it fit me, and can I wear it over a winter jacket?
One size, and it really is adjustable at both the shoulders and the waist. Set it over the thickest layer you will actually fish in and it stays set.
Honest note: Adjust it once over your real fishing layers rather than over a t-shirt indoors.
How many pockets does it have?
A chest pocket, two zipped front pockets, a small front pocket, a front pocket with velcro, a generous zipped rear pocket and a water bottle holder. Plus D-rings and elastic bands.
Does it get hot in summer?
It is sleeveless with fully open sides, so air crosses your back instead of sitting against it. In real heat, take the foam panels out as well.
Can I use it at sea?
It is made for sheltered water: lakes, rivers, the coast, a kayak or a float tube. It is not homologated for open sea or rough navigation zones.
Honest note: For an inflatable boat or a jet ski in sea areas C or D you need a 100 newton life jacket or higher.
Is the whistle included?
Yes. It clips to the webbing on the right chest so it stays outside the pockets, where you can find it without looking.
What does the Orange colour look like?
It is an orange camo pattern, not a solid blaze orange. If you want to be seen rather than hidden, the reflective strips do that job in every colour.
Honest note: Worth knowing before you order. The photographs show the pattern exactly as it arrives.
Can I return it?
Yes. Not satisfied? You can return it within 30 days.
