Stop layering fleeces under your raincoat.
The fleece is already inside.
A fleece jacket zipped into a waterproof shell. Throw it on and go.
What everyone says first
“I already have a fleece and a raincoat.”
Fair. So every cold, wet morning it's the same at the door: fleece on, raincoat over it, sleeves bunched at the wrists. Here the fleece is already zipped inside a waterproof shell. One coat off the hook, on, out the door.
Six reasons it's the only coat by the door
A WATERPROOF SHELL
The outer jacket keeps the rain off, with a hood and a high storm collar. Wear it alone on a mild wet day, or over the fleece.
A FLEECE THAT'S A REAL JACKET
The inner fleece has its own full zip and a collar up to your chin. Zipped out, it's a jacket of its own, not a lining.
THREE WAYS, ONE HANGER
Shell for rain, fleece for a dry cool morning, both together when it's cold. One jacket instead of three.
A HOOD THAT CINCHES
Toggles at the sides and two drawcords at the chest pull the hood snug around your face when the weather turns.
ZIP POCKETS AND A D-RING
A zip chest pocket for your phone, two zip hand pockets for gloves and hat, and a D-ring on the chest for keys.
CUFFS AND HEM THAT CLOSE
Hook-and-loop cuffs and a drawcord hem close the gaps at wrists and waist, so bending over doesn't let the cold in.

Fleece under a raincoat vs. one coat
Honest limit: this is a shell with a fleece, not a heavy insulated parka. For deep cold or hours standing still, add a warm layer underneath.
Why the fleece ends up under your raincoat
A raincoat keeps you dry but not warm. A fleece keeps you warm but not dry. So on every cold, wet day you wear both: fleece first, the raincoat squeezed over it, sleeves bunched and the fleece riding up underneath.
Here the warmth is a separate fleece jacket, zipped inside a waterproof shell. Cold: wear both. Warmed up: zip the fleece out and keep the shell on for the rain. Dry and calm: wear the fleece alone. Your layers, zipped together.
Good questions
Is it waterproof?
Yes. The outer shell is waterproof, with a hood and a high storm collar, so you can wear it alone in the rain or over the fleece.
Honest note: We don't publish a water-column rating. In a long downpour, close the hood and the cuffs all the way.
Does the fleece zip out?
Yes. The fleece is a separate jacket that zips into the shell. Zip it out when you warm up, zip it back in when you cool down.
Can I wear the fleece on its own?
Yes. It has its own full-length zip and a collar up to the chin. On a dry, calm morning it's a light jacket by itself.
Honest note: Fleece lets the wind through. When it blows, put the shell back over it.
Is it warm enough for winter?
For cold mornings, raw wind and wet days, yes, with both layers on. It is a shell with a fleece, not a heavy insulated parka.
Honest note: For deep cold or hours of standing still, add a warm layer underneath.
Will I sweat in it?
Less than in a heavy coat, because you can drop a layer. Zip the fleece out when you warm up and keep the shell on.
Honest note: We don't claim the shell is breathable. Working hard in the shell alone? Open the front zip.
Is the hood lined?
No. The hood is shell fabric, with toggles and drawcords to pull it snug. The high collar covers your neck, so the scarf can stay home.
What pockets does it have?
A vertical zip chest pocket, two zip hand pockets and a D-ring on the chest of the shell. Big enough for gloves and a hat when you warm up.
Which size should I pick?
Use the size guide next to the size buttons. It shows the measurements per size, and it's the one we keep up to date.
Is it worth $89.95?
Compare it with what you'd wear otherwise: a rain jacket and a fleece, and the hassle of wearing both. Here it's one coat. Buying for two? 2 jackets for $150.
Can I return it?
Yes. Not happy with it? You can return it within 30 days. Shipping with UPS is free.
